Your source for Roseville CA Real Estate Information

Welcome to the Roseville California real estate doorway. Your singles stop for everything real estate in Roseville California. As of today we have available 3100 real estate properties in Roseville area. It is very important for you to know the ins and outs of the town (Roseville California) when you will be moving here. Roseville is a progressive city located in Placer County along the eastern edge of the Sacramento Valley at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills.

Roseville is a mere 16 miles from Sacramento, the state capital. Typical of other California cities, Roseville’s climate ranges from hot, dry summers to mild winters. What started as a town developed by disappointed miners from the famed Gold Rush has blossomed into thoroughly developed, in depended city boasting an estimated population of 104,655 residents (as of January 1, 2006) Roseville incorporated on April 10, 1909 and is a charter city operating under a City Manager – Council form of government.

The sustained a steady period of growth, finally becoming Placer County’s larger and most significant city. Roseville continued as an unchallenged railroad center into the post-war years, but by the 1950s the airline and trucking industries provide stiff competition. Completion of Folsom Dam in 1955 saw the gradual shift in the town’s business and commercial center from “downtown” Roseville to what became known as “East Roseville”. Roseville Square, the town’s first shopping center complex was completed in 1961. Today Douglas Blvd., east of the freeway and extending almost to Folsom Lake is lined with a wide array of modern stat of-the-art shops, markets and business complexes.

By the 1972, the local depot was closed but in 1987 passenger traffic was reintroduced and a new intermodal depot facility was completed. In the meantime, the city of Roseville grew by leaps and bounds. While still true to its “Junction” roots, today’s Roseville is no longer completely dependent on the railroad, as the electronics industry has made its presence felt with both Hewlett-Packard and NEC Technologies, Kaiser Permanente and the Union Pacific Railroad becoming major employers in Roseville and South Placer County.

A large variety of culture and entertainment venues within and around the city provide a way for residents and visitors alike to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. A stop at the Magic Circle Theater is a must for any live theater enthusiast, or live music can be heard at Roseville’s famous Music in the Park while families enjoy the outdoors with a picnic. During the summer, Downtown Tuesday Nights allow residents to mix and mingle with different vendors and live bands all along the historic Old Town Vernon Street. Other avenues of family fun include Golf land Sunsplash, spending a day at Denio’s Farmers Market & Swap Meet (Roseville’s largest outdoor open market), or browsing through one of Roseville’s museums. Even outside of the city, you still have options for entertainment. So whether you prefer the fine wineries of Napa, the outdoor activities of Lake Tahoe and Folsom Lake or the city life of San Francisco, Roseville is within driving distance of the best that California has to offer.

The City of Roseville faced the challenge of a rapidly growing population head on. Expanded water, electrical, sewage, police, and fire protection service more than kept pace with growing demand, as did expanded par, recreational and educational services.

The mission of the Roseville Housing Division is to serve the citizens of Roseville by:

 - Providing affordable housing opportunities in a safe environment.
 - Revitalizing and maintaining neighborhoods.
 - Forming effective partnerships to maximize social and economic opportunities.

Roseville’s parks and recreation programs and educational systems make Roseville an amazing place to raise a family. Abundant recreational programs, numerous neighborhood parks, wonderful golf courses, state-of-the-art fitness centers and thousands of acres of open space provide a great way for every one of all ages to soak in the warm California sun. Several schools have received “California Distinguished School Awards” from the California Department of Education and Roseville is within driving distance of Sierra Community College, California State University, Sacramento and University of California, Davis.
